Cut corners

It's a beautiful home but that's about it. 2 foot centers for the walls when they should be 16 inch centers. Windows let rain into the house while shut and locked. Not enough instalation in the ceiling. For a 95% efficient furnace and central air conditioner my bill should not be almost 250ish in winter or 200 ish in the summer. The HOA does not maintain the properties and streets as well as they should. During the winter streets only have enough room for 1 car. And in summer the HOA allows residents to leave parked broken down vehicles in the street for months. The location is nice has a ...

Allen Edwin Homes - My house literally has nails coming up from the basement into

My house literally has nails coming up from the basement into my living room floor board… so that’s great My “hydro seeded” grass didn’t even sprout - but even though it was included in my price - don’t worry I did that myself. Oh and also, my electrical panel that controls the electric; yeah none of that is labeled correctly nor shuts the electricity off all the way. This is probably due to the crappy wiring job they did in the first place (my fridge wouldn’t power, imagine that!) and having to send the same people back to “fix” the issue. 0/10.

Allen Edwin Homes - Sales felt hard to trust and misinformed.

Sales felt hard to trust and misinformed. Build quality looked ok for the price but now we are seeing many things not satisfying what was committed or promised. If it was wasn’t for the location we like we may have moved from a brand new home. We have concerns

A House that Feels Unfinished

  • Teri P.

Things buyers should verify prior to buying: How many trains per day, is the landscaping included, does finishing the garage with drywall include paint, will there be permanent steps at the back door? The house didn't feel finished when it was transferred to us. We spent an additional $10k to transform the dirt lot into a lawn, which did not include any plants or trees. There is no additional funding in our budget to finish the garage with paint or pay someone to install permanent steps at the back door. If we had known these items were not included, we would have spent our budget ...

Negative experience with customer care

I built my 4th Allen edwin home in late 2022. They’ve left construction debris on my site to where I will have to bring in over a hundred yards of top soil in order ti put in a lawn at my brand new home. If this is not resolved, this will be my last Allen Edwin home built. Brooke in customer care has ruined an otherwise great working relationship I had with them.

Poor quality for the cost

Poor quality - paint is not washable and stains easily, poor quality carpet, cheap linoleum to look like wood, windows are cheap, drywall is horrible that my windows were crooked and too thin, customer service does not help with issues and are rude (Natalie specific) and the grading on the yard was not up to code and now I have to put $20k into a yard that they left full of debris. Project manager Brian in Greenville Mi flat lied to me numerous times before and after the buy, air conditioner too small for the house, not enough ducts used bare minimum for everything, closet doors open to hit ...

Will Never Use Allen Edwin Again

My backyard is ridiculous. Standing and pooling water. I am in the process of selling this house but have not had any luck due to the backyard water. Allen Edwin is responsible for making this right as they should have from the very onset of the building process, however I am now waiting for "weather permitting" in order for them to do anything. It's outrageous and I will never buy or do business with them again. I will also write a Google review and a Yelp review.
