Took way to long from Contract to settlement

Not a lot of clarification during sales process. Final inspection much too quick with many questions and concerns left unanswered.

Having researched KHovnanian we felt somewhat confident in our choice. We would give the financial aspect of our purchase an A. Everyone was helpful and responsive and made this an easy straightforward process. When we put in our offer to purchase we had an expectation that we would receive good communication and the layout provided in the model. Just after our framing was completed we discovered our garage was 7 feet shorter then the model. No one including our sales agent told us this would not be included in the elevation we chose. Later we learned our sales agent was not aware of this. The floor plan shown with the elevation did not indicate the shortage. We felt this was very dishonest. My husband has experience in building and as we watched our framing he was very satisfied with the work. That part of the process would receive a B+. We were patient as we saw the exterior and interior take shape. However as our closing day grew closer we were very disappointed at the very poor quality of work, the dirt, and the poor quality of painting and attention to detail eg. crooked light fixtures, crooked handles, crooked electrical outlets and damaged drywall in several places. On closing day the house was not cleaned. We had told our builder our movers would arrive at 11am and he said he would have a cleaning crew early to be done before 11. The crew arrived at 10:45. Constant change of Constuction managers left out of town buyers on a lurch

The workmanship is below any reasonable standard of home building. The builder clearly maximizes their profit while cutting corners on construction wherever possible.

General consensus amongst almost every resident here is dissatisfaction with their homes. Some minor cosmetic whiles others experience numerous inspection fails.

Great community! Beautiful home. Sales and follow up on small builders issues outstanding. DO NOT use their mortgage broker or their recommended legal attorneys. Unless you want your confidential information shared— Very Unprofessional!!! And cost you thousands of dollars in taxes! Even though both the mortgage broker and attorney practice in S.C. Does Not mean they understand the requirements or law! Costing the buyer unnecessarily thousands of dollars.

We found the purchasing process quite frustrating. We can not example how many emails and texts went unanswered. The sales team promised everything and then the operating group indicated that they had no knowledge of facts presented. An example. An application for the install of a pool was made apparently denied with no reasons given other that we dont grant approval before the completion of the house. All that was wanted on our part was the ability to start construction once the house was closed on so we could enjoy the summer. This just went on deaf ears Second the whole closing process was a mess. No leas than three closing documents were created all in correct just days from closing. Lastly no explain of the repair process was ever made when the house was finished. No list of number, no contacts no anything. This left us days trying to get thru to people. When we inquired about having the lawn mowed 6 weeks after closing we were told no one informed that department the the house was finished. If asked we would NOT recommend you to any new buyer. Or would tell new buyers to do hold backs on the final close. That you would now ask, months after close for our opinion examples the problem We do not expect to bear anything back from you on this. The building process was not good. Poor, incompetent workers. Quality of work is very poor compared to the money spent The builder's team was GREAT. Response to all my concerns was answered.

From the beginning, promises were not kept. We were out-of-towners and that really hurt us. They blamed the poor workmanship on sub par contractors. At the price point charged, they should not be hiring poor contractors. We heard way too many times, "we can't fix that, that is just how it is". Also, design choices were very limited. We would not choose them again.

Prepare to wait months for any repair work to be done, and you will probably be disappointed in the quality of any repair wok

Rushed to close with a large list and zero follow through after a month. Now arguing over contract language. Likely headed to court over front door and library doors (if you can believe it!) Warrantee means nothing.

Very disappointed in the overall process, I paid for an upgraded kitchen only to later find they would not supply a refrigerator. The concrete was not laid properly and is cracking like a spider web. The workmanship was poor, no oversight of sub-contractors, and responses from the builder were nonexistent or spotty at best. Never got the feeling they even cared about the client once they had your deposit. Do not close on your home if there are any issues outstanding...getting them resolved after you move in will be a miracle if they even respond. Their staff is overwhelmed and does not have the ability to manage issues or situations. So disappointed with the overall process and the workmanship of the contractors they hire. This experience was a nightmare!!! With the exception of the Construction Manager, who was responsive to any and all of my questions during the building process, as well as the Finance Team in Florida who were a breath of fresh air; the rest of kHovnanian Staff from the Sales Person to the Design Center were a nightmare!! There were no return phone calls and/ or emails from the Sales Person, unless it had to do with monies; and he wouldn't respond to confirm and back up information, he had originally given me, of which I made my decisions from. I would never recommend anyone to KHov as there isn't anyone on the face of the earth, I despise that much. All this took place in December 2020, with COVID-19; and the Sales person from kHov was only interested in monies during desperate times when everyone is trying to make sure that their financial decisions are somewhat safe. He just about left me with a horrible impression, that I told all my friends and families to find any other builder besides kHov. ... More

Deceptive sales practices, poor build quality, both in materials and labor, items that are excluded from the upgraded packages purchased, but not disclosed, promised times committed to and missed by warranty department, no follow up from anyone at KHOV. This is our 4th home build, and the absolute worst.

What we thought was going to be our dream home, turned into a nightmare of horrors. In my opinion, KHOV is a low grade production builder that utilizes general labor instead of skilled tradesmen. Their end state product is extremely low quality. I would NOT recommend this builder.

What is seen in the models and promised at the design center is not what will be received. Don't close until you are satisfied. We were promised all items on our issue list would be completed in a timely manner. From our list of 37 issues including but not limited to no shower door in master bath, paint dripped all over the floors, grout in bathrooms with 2 different colors, doors that will not lock, outlets that trip breakers when used, only one has been completed. They are trying to close homes before they are ready. Supply chains and labor issues have caused understandable delays, but changing finishes to lesser quality products and poor workmanship should not be tolerated from any builder.
